CA State Record Bow Killed Turkey!

Congratulations to Mark Bonales for bagging this whopper of a long beard!   Mark killed this huge tom with a 12 14/16" beard a 1 3/16" right.spur and a 1 2/16 left spur on the first weekend of the 05' spring turkey season. Marks bird was awarded a total score of 15 13/16", shattering the old record of 13 3/16" by two full inches! He was hunting out of a Double Bull blind and using his PSE Mach 12 equipped with Carbon Force arrows and Mar Den Min-Max Brodhead.  This bird was officially scored by CBH scorers Brent Miller, Mike Wash and Rick Batterton.  The incredible part is Mark Bonales and Mike Wash were hunting in their Double Bull Blind together on this April day when two long beards came in together.  The duo doubled on the birds, and after official scoring Marks bird obtains the title of new state record and Mike's bird tied the old state record at 13 3/16.  The number 1 and number 2 birds in the state at the same time.  Good job boys!  Check below for information on Mike's bird.  

Team Bonales member Mike Wash shot the bird that was with Mark's and here are the measurements of his bird.  Mike's beard measured 11 0/16, the rt. spur measures 1 2/16, and the left at 1 1/16.  The total score came out to be 13/3/16"  tying the old record, and coming in at the new #2 bird in the state killed with a bow.  Congratulations Mike!
